El Puente de Wilson, cruza el río Loira, a la altura de la calle Nationale. Es blanco, enorme, largo y cruza el río hacia los viejos edificios del "octroi", donde en la época medieval, la gente pagaba los peajes de acceso, y de ahí al norte de Tours, donde no hay mucho interés turístico.

Su nombre se debe al presidente estadounidense Wilson, que fue honrado después de la Primera Guerra Mundial, cuando Tours se convirtió en una importante base militar en la zona. El puente fue parcialmente destruido durante los combates de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y en 1978 casi se derrumbó por completo, al parecer por el ataque que aguantó las bases del puente, ¡por suerte sólo había un coche en el puente!

Hoy el puente es una característica típica del paisaje local. En verano, se encuentra el bar veraniego "guinguette", con sus precios razonables y un entorno mágico, y un pequeño restaurante, conciertos, bailes y otras actividades cotidianas, casi debajo del puente, en el lado oeste. El este es la biblioteca.


El paseo bajo el puente es muy recomendable, en el paseo marítimo, en el corazón de la ciudad, pero en un océano de tranquilidad..
