Parque recientemente renovado en Sofía, Bulgaria.

El “Parque Vuzrajdan” es uno de los símbolos más representativos del renovado espíritu de crecimiento que comenzó a surgir en Bulgaria después del fin del período comunista en el país. Se trata del primer parque construido en la ciudad después de la revolución; se ubica entre las Avenidas Nishavski y Skobelev, en medio de una zona residencial dominada por gigantescos edificios que datan del inicio del socialismo en Sofía. En medio de una zona francamente gris y triste, un área verde fue lo mejor que pudo haberse construido para alegrar un poco el ambiente tanto para locales como para turistas en la ciudad.


Con un costo de 6 millones de Levs búlgaros, el parque cuenta con senderos peatonales y carriles exclusivos para ciclistas. Durante los meses de verano se instala aquí el circo más grande del país y el parque es también sede de importantes eventos artísticos y culturales. Además, en el lugar hay un pequeño lago artificial y algunas esculturas representativas del arte contemporáneo en el país. Se espera que nuevos elementos se añadan al lugar con el objetivo de atraer cada vez más visitantes. La ubicación céntrica y el tamaño del lugar hacen que sea un buen sitio para recorrer si se quiere tener una idea de lo que ha ocurrido en Bulgaria después del comunismo, que a veces parece que hubiera frenado el paso del tiempo en el país entero.
