You can get to Hoa Lư vía a wide and busy road in about 2.5 hours. The route is pleasant and the scenery changes from rice paddies and oxen to fields of wildflowers and multi-colored chrysanthemums.
When we finally arrived in Hoa Lư, we expected more temples, pagodas, palaces and the like. In fact, the actual best part of the visit was the landscape. You really understand why they decided to built their capital here years ago.
Hoa Lư is in the Ninh Binh province and is currently only a small reminder of its glory over 1000 years ago when it was the capital of Vietnam. It is currently undergoing restoration thanks to the number of tourists who visit the site during their route to the Tam Coc Caves.
